I recently had the pleasure of photographing Ruth & Simon’s most gorgeous vintage inspired wedding right here in Cardiff.

I met up with Ruth at the Park Plaza Hotel who wanted some low key prep shots with her close family before setting off for the day. As we left the hotel, Ruth had a lovely surprise to find a crew of her work colleagues waiting patiently outside to catch a glimpse of the beautiful bride, before making her way to the ceremony in a cream, convertible VW Beetle.

I had the pleasure of joining the close family in ‘Dilwyn,’ the cream, beige and chrome VW Camper, where we met with Simon, looking very handsome in his tweed three piece suit and bow tie. After the beautiful ceremony at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, we made our way to the spectacular Cardiff Castle, and had some beautiful shots of the happy couple on the castle grounds whilst the guests made their way for drinks and canapes in the library.

I have to say that Ruth looked absolutely gorgeous in her timeless Paloma Blanca dress. Her elegance combined with Simon’s tweed attire, totally rocked the modern vintage look, oozing style, grace and the perfect balance between old and new.

The wedding breakfast was held in the exquisite banqueting hall, with its opulent interior and elaborate wood carvings, followed by the first dance and evening entertainment in the stone-vaulted undercroft.

This wedding was filled with so much love and lots of laughter…a really lovely couple and a great day.
