Capturing Kate and Dan’s wedding was an absolute pleasure. From the moment I arrived to see Kate and her ‘little chicks’ prepare for the day, through to first dance, I knew it was going to be fun.
The day had such a party atmosphere, with a wonderful mix of brightly coloured flowers, subtle sea greens and quirky little touches…a tropical/surf theme, clearly influenced by the couple’s home in Australia. One of the highlights was a giant marquee which housed a surf shack style bar, and ice sculpture and a myriad of overjoyed guests, eager to congratulate the happy couple and enjoy the festivities.
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church, Usk, and was packed full of friends and family, accompanied by some excellent singing voices. After the vows, signing the register, dancing down the aisles and some very enthusiastic confetti throwing, Kate and Dan made a fantastic exit in a wedding golf buggy, equipped with a siren and dressed in bows, and drove away together back to the reception at Kate’s parental home at Great House Barn, a beautifully converted barn on the outskirts of Usk. The guests shortly followed and continued to celebrate with the couple throughout the afternoon and evening.
It was a such a beautiful, laid back day, celebrating the happiness of two lovely people.
Here’s a selection of my favourite photos. Enjoy!
