Tipis, kilts, smoke grenades and lots of laughter… that was certainly the theme at Faye & Joseph’s brilliant festival wedding.
The big day was held at the beautiful Ceridwen Centre, a unique and rural eco-retreat tucked away on Penybanc Farm between Carmarthen and Cardigan, West Wales. This lovely little hideway is set in a stunning location surrounded by the the green welsh hills, and accomodates an old double decker bus, eco-pods, yurts amongst plenty more distinctive features.
Within the centre’s gardens, is the Old Dairy, a restored original farm building full of gorgeous characteristics and natural light, and is where I joined Faye and her bridesmaids for the bridal prep. This was a stress-free, relaxed morning, reflecting Faye’s laidback personality, and is where I managed to captured truly memorable and emotive images of the girls and the family getting ready for the I-do’s.
The oak gazebo, conveniently situated outside the Dairy, is where the ceremony was held, and was beautifully dressed in gorgeous, wild flowers, complimenting the wedding’s rustic style. This, combined with the sunshine and the open air, gave the day such a special vibe.
The service itself was very chilled, with a few tears and giggles thrown in, and on completing the group shots, we strolled along into the adjoining field where the couple planted their own apple tree. This was such a nice addition to the day, where the centre offers newlyweds the option of planting a lasting memory of their special day, and can re-visit in years to come. We then concluded to the venue’s tipi for the meal and speeches, with it’s rustic decor that included bunting, lots of twine and of course the famous barbeque, which, I can honestly say, is amazing!
After capturing the speeches and the guests’ enjoyment, I was desperate to try out my new coloured smoke grenades, and Faye & Joseph were more than happy to give these a bash in their couple shots, with some awesome, colourful results.
I left the wedding party with the happy couple and high spirited guests dancing the night away amidst a stunning sunset…the end of a great day for a really great couple.
